Police identify teen killed in Nov. 25 shooting

Editor's note: The video above aired on Nov. 26, 2023. AUSTIN (KXAN) – Austin Police on Thursday identified a teenager shot and killed at a party during Thanksgiving weekend in east Austin. According to APD, officers found Patrick Valadez, 16, and another person, a male, in the 2500 block of Sol Wilson Avenue on Saturday, Nov. 25 around 10:10 p.m. APD said both victims had multiple gunshot wounds. Valadez was pronounced dead at the scene, police said. The second victim remains in the hospital in stable condition, according to APD. APD said detectives determined the shooting happened during a party where the suspect had arrived. According to police, the suspect was asked to leave and shots were fired in front of the residence where both victims were hit by the gunshots. LOUIS - Many senior citizen homeowners in St. Louis City would receive a break on their property taxes if a bill receives final approval Friday from the Board of Aldermen.That partial property tax break is detailed in 'Board Bill 141.' The Board of Aldermen members are set to take a final vote on the legislation during their meeting later Friday morning at City Hall. The bill already received initial approval from the board at last week's meeting, with nobody voting against it.Anne Schweitzer, an aldermanic member, is the bill's primary sponsor. It would enable eligible senior citizen homeowners in the city to freeze the amount they owe on the city's portion of their property taxes.FOX 2's partners at the St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported that this is basically 20% of a resident's total property tax bill. A.G. Andrew Bailey suing Washington University for transgender clinic documents

ST. LOUIS - Missouri Attorney General Andrew Bailey is suing Washington University.Bailey claims Wash-U failed to hand over documents about their pediatric transgender clinic. Bailey also claimed that the university had previously agreed to provide those documents. Buc-ee’s has started hiring for Johnstown location, expects store to open in March

Work is on schedule for Colorado’s first Buc-ee’s to open early next year.The Texas-based company, known for its mega convenience stores, gas stations and red-capped beaver mascot, is building a store in Johnstown. The store will be the company’s first planned outside the South and the farthest west.And at 74,000 square feet, the Johnstown store will be one of the biggest Buc-ee’s. There will be 120 gas pumps.“We’re scheduled to open the store in March. As we get closer to March, we’ll announce the official day,” Jeff Nadalo, Buc-ee’s general counsel, said Thursday.The building at the southwest corner of Interstate 25 and Colorado 60 is taking shape, clearly recognizable as a Buc-ee’s.
