Illusionist David Blaine injured during Las Vegas performance

LAS VEGAS (KLAS) — "Extreme illusionist" David Blaine was injured during a performance Saturday in Las Vegas, according to a news release.Blaine, who was performing at the Resorts World Theater, suffered the injury while jumping into a pile of boxes from a height of 80 feet. According to his team, the stunt is the first of the show. David Blaine successfully flies over the Arizona desert holding onto helium balloons Blaine, well-known for his mind-bending stunts, can be seen in the video below stepping from the platform and falling, arms flailing, into the boxes. He can then be heard yelling in pain. Another angle of Blaine's stunt shows just how far of a fall it was. Representatives say Blaine dislocated his right shoulder in the stunt. AUSTIN (KXAN) — A stretch of unseasonably cold temperatures is forecast to begin Friday and last through SXSW Music Festival weekend into early next week. Light precipitation is mainly expected to fall as cold rain, but a few wet snowflakes cannot be ruled out, especially in the Hill Country.Temperatures this week ramp up through Wednesday as humidity returns ahead of a large storm system. That system is expected to bring the threat of severe thunderstorms late Thursday into early Friday, then a period of dramatically colder temperatures.Colder weather blows in starting FridayAfter the cold front passes through early Friday, temperatures drop into the 50s for the rest of the day and remain very cold for SXSW attendees through the weekend. A new HBO Max series titled "Love & Death" takes a stab at the Texas axe murder.The series premiered at the 2023 South by Southwest Film & TV Festival. The cast, which includes Elizabeth Olsen, Jesse Plemons, Lily Rabe, Patrick Fugit, traveled back to Austin, the area where the series was filmed, for the premiere. AUSTIN (KXAN) — There are thousands of people who are experiencing homelessness across the City of Austin, but not all are living in tents or under a bridge-- some are living in their cars."I lived in my car for two years," said Tony Carter, who was on a visit to Sunrise Homeless Navigation Center.Carter is not the only person in Austin who turned to a car for shelter, many parking lots and parks around Austin have become popular places to park and live.If you drive to the entrance of Barton Springs Pool on the Azie Morton Drive side, you will see cars lining the parking lot and many of them are being used for shelter.A woman who visits the park frequently tells us people have been camping in their cars for months without any enforcement, she hopes they can get some help, but she does have safety concerns."It would be nice to see a policeman here," said the woman, who said her car was broken into while she was visiting the pool.While some people choose to live in their cars and trav...Latest news
